Creating a Quiz

As an admin, you can create a new quiz and assign it to a course.

  • On the left sidebar in your admin pannel, click on Quizzes.
  • Click the New Quiz button.

Basic Information:

  • Search and select the Course to which you want to assign the quiz.
  • Quiz Title: Enter the title of the quiz.
  • Time (Minutes): Specify the time limit for the quiz in minutes. Leave it blank for an unlimited time.
  • Number of Attempts: Enter the number of attempts allowed for the quiz. Leave it blank for unlimited attempts.
  • Passing Grade: Set the passing grade for the quiz.
  • Expiry Days: Specify the number of days after the enrollment that the quiz will expire.

Additional Settings:

  • Display Questions Randomly: Toggle this option to randomize the order of quiz questions.
  • Certificate Included: Toggle this option if a certificate will be included upon completion of the quiz.
  • Active Quiz: Toggle this option to activate the quiz.

Once all fields are filled out, click the Create button to save your new quiz. Your quiz is now created and ready to be populated with questions.

Adding Questions

AlpacaLMS supports multiple choices as well as short answer questions.

To add multiple choice questions to a quiz:

  • Click Add a Multiple choice button.

  • Question Title: Enter the question title.

  • Grade: Assign a grade for the question.

  • Image (Optional): Upload an image related to the question, if needed.

  • Video (Optional): Upload a video related to the question, if needed.

  • Adding Answers:

    • Click Add an Answer.
    • Answer Title: Enter the text for the answer option.
    • Answer Image (Optional): Upload an image for the answer option, if needed.

    • Toggle the Correct Answer switch if this is the correct option.

      A multiple choice question should only have one correct answer. If you need to add more than one correct answer, you can add an answer option that says "All of the above".

    • Click Save.

To add short answer questions to a quiz:

  • Click Add Descriptive button.
  • Question Title: Enter the question title.
  • Grade: Assign a grade for the question.
  • Image (Optional): Upload an image related to the question, if needed.
  • Video (Optional): Upload a video related to the question, if needed.
  • Correct answer: Enter the text based answer for the question. This is the anwser that students will see once they finish the quiz.
  • Click Save.

Your question is now created and added to the quiz. Repeat these steps to add more questions as needed.
