Subdomain


Introduction


AlpacaLMS enables you to set your own subdomain. For instance, if you choose example as your subdomain, your site will be accessible at example.alpacasystem.com. This is useful if you want to reinforce your organization's branding on your AlpacaLMS site.

This manual provides detailed instructions on how to set up a subdomain for your AlpacaLMS instance. A subdomain allows you to customize the URL of your LMS, making it easier for users to access your platform.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • An active account on AlpacaSystem.com
  • An active AlpacaLMS subscription.

Step-by-Step Guide

Login to Your Account

  1. Open your web browser and go to alpacasystem.com.
  2. Click on the Login button and enter your credentials to access your account.

Selecting Subscription

  1. Once logged in, navigate to the Dashboard.
  2. In the dashboard menu, click on Subscriptions.
  3. Select the Subscription plan for which you want to set subdomain.

Choose a Subdomain

  1. In the Subdomain box:

    • If you don't already have a subdomain created, the New Subdomain button will be available.
  2. Click on the New Subdomain button:

    • Enter the subdomain you want to use.
    • Click Create.
  3. Subdomain Availability:

    • If your chosen subdomain has not been reserved by other users, it will be successfully created.
    • You should see your new subdomain listed under the Subdomain box.
  4. Wait for Propagation:

    • Allow a few minutes for the new subdomain to take effect.
  5. Visit Your Site Using the New Subdomain

    • Congratulation! You can now visit your LMS using the new subdomain!

Update Your Subdomain

  1. In the Subdomain box:

    • If you already have a subdomain created, it will be listed in the Subdomain box.
  2. Click on the Edit Subdomain button:

    • Next to your current subdomain, you will see an Edit button. Click on it.
  3. Enter New Subdomain:

    • Enter the new subdomain you want to use.
    • Click Save or Update.
  4. Subdomain Availability:

    • If your chosen subdomain has not been reserved by other users, it will be successfully updated.
    • You should see your updated subdomain listed under the Subdomain box.
  5. Wait for Propagation:

    • Allow a few minutes for the new subdomain to take effect.

Troubleshooting

  • Subdomain Unavailable: If your desired subdomain is unavailable, try a different name or variation.
  • DNS Propagation Delay: If your subdomain is not working immediately, it may take some time for DNS changes to propagate. Wait for a few minutes and try again.
